Fundraising Leadership

Income, whether unrestricted or restricted, is the lifeblood of a charity. Being able to generate it effectively through a diversified strategy, and understanding its most effective uses is critical to survival. How is your income going?

Having been a member of the Senior Leadership Team for a large international charity for 5 years I have an excellent grounding across all types of fundraising and specific in-depth experience of restricted income generation, particularly from institutional/statutory sources. I am a full member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising.

My experiences include:

  • Leading 70% growth in institutional income over 5 years to generate a portfolio valued at £29m in FY23/24.

  • Account Executive to 15+ institutional donors.

  • Forecasting £90m annual income across mass-market, philanthropic and institutional sources.

  • Leading an emergency mass-market appeal raising £4.3m.

  • Optimisation of legacy, regular giving and events strategies.

  • Design of projects to pitch for funding to major donors, trusts and foundations or institutional donors

  • Developing donor engagement strategies. Account executive for institutional donors.

  • Developing strategy for multi-source income generation including mass-market, philanthropic and institutional sources

  • Modelling to forecast and scenario plan income.

  • Appraisal of fundraising investments and prioritisation of the portfolio

  • Ensuring effective governance of fundraising so that operations are compliant with legislation, regulatory bodies and corporate priorities.
